We Thank and Celebrate All Those Who Serve

We honor those who serve and have served in the U.S. Military this Veterans DayWe give thanks to those who are serving and have served in the U.S. military. We are proud of you and celebrate your service to our country.  Though this one day per year is set aside to honor all Veterans – past and present, we thank you everyday for the sacrifices and service you have made for our freedom.

Started as a holiday in 1919, Armistice Day’s specific focus was to honor those who died in WWI. In 1945, Raymond Weeks, a World War II veteran from Alabama put fourth the idea to celebrate all veterans, not just those lost in WWI.  Congress passed legislation changing Armistice to Veterans and its been known as Veterans Day ever since.
